\u201cOriginally, our work was limited to the flashing details around pedestrian and overhead doors, but the scope of the contract eventually expanded significantly. In total, we supplied and installed more than 3.2 kilometres of flashing profiles for the project, primarily for interior applications,\u201d says Jani Paukkeri, Site Manager at PetterSteel.<\/span><\/p>\n Some of the flashing profiles were delivered painted in DHL\u2019s corporate colours, providing the finishing touch to the building\u2019s appearance.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n In large construction projects, reliability and consistent adherence to schedules are essential. Equally important are proactive planning, the ability to respond quickly to site requirements, and the capability to manage the project from start to finish. Once again, these objectives were achieved through PetterSteel\u2019s systematic service model.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe cooperation went very well. Overall, we were left with a very positive impression of both the project and the way it was carried out,\u201d says Erno Eloranta, Site Manager at Meijou Oy.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n DHL is one of the world\u2019s largest logistics and courier companies. Operating in more than 220 countries and territories, it has the most extensive logistics networks in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n It is therefore no surprise that the new logistics centre was designed and built in accordance with modern sustainability principles. The facility has achieved an Energy Class A rating and is targeting LEED Platinum certification as well as a BREEAM Excellent rating. The building includes more than 10 kilometres of geothermal wells and approximately 3,000 square metres of solar panels, among other energy-efficient solutions.<\/span><\/p>\n Developed by the main contractor Meijou Oy, the logistics centre employs approximately 150 people and occupies a strategically important location in the immediate vicinity of Helsinki Airport.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0\u201cMeijou was a new partner for us in installations in the Helsinki metropolitan area, and it was great to work with them on this project. The cooperation was smooth throughout, and the project left us with a very positive impression.
