The new Koillis-Vantaa Sports Hall currently under construction in Korso, Vantaa, is a design-build project being delivered by Tekova Oyj. In the project, PetterSteel is able to leverage its specialist expertise as a supplier and installer of façade metalwork. Construction began in autumn 2025, and the new sports facility is scheduled to open to local residents at the end of 2026. PetterSteel’s contract work will commence in May 2026.
PetterSteel is responsible for delivering the complete façade package for the new sports hall. At the heart of the project are Textur façade cassettes, developed to meet the high standards of modern construction. Manufactured with precision, the façade cassettes enable a modern and refined appearance that supports the architectural vision of the building.
“We manufacture the façade cassettes at PetterSteel’s own factory. The cassettes ensure fast and reliable delivery as well as efficient installation directly on site,” says Joakim Heimonen, Sales Manager at PetterSteel.

Partnership Driving Greater Efficiency in Construction
The project’s main contractor, Tekova Oyj, has been a long-standing and trusted partner of PetterSteel since the company’s early years. This significant project further strengthens a collaboration that has evolved over many years and demonstrates PetterSteel’s ability to take responsibility for increasingly extensive project scopes. Tekova values PetterSteel’s prefabrication approach and method of execution.
“At the core of our operating model is the idea that as much work as possible should be completed in a controlled factory environment rather than on the construction site. By reducing the amount of manual work required on site, installation becomes significantly faster and the quality of the finished result improves,” Heimonen continues.
Once completed, the nearly 3,000-square-metre facility will provide versatile sports and recreational spaces for activities ranging from floorball to dance. The building has been designed to serve the needs of schools and daycare centres during weekdays, while sports clubs will use the facilities during evenings and weekends.
For PetterSteel, the Vantaa Sports Hall is an important reference project that demonstrates the benefits of in-house product development and industrial prefabrication in the pursuit of higher-quality and more efficient construction.
PetterSteel would like to thank Tekova for its trust and is proud to be involved in creating a sustainable, user-oriented sports facility for the community.
